I admit I may bias the > patients in favor of D and C. How do you convice private patients to > not have a D and C? I don't know if I'm the "missed AB" magnet or what, but I usually average 2-3 first trimester missed AB's per month. About 50-60% of my patients opt for expectant management. I'm interested in the use of misoprostol to expedite things, as many of these women end up changing their minds for D&C after a week of so if anything hasn't happened just to get the waiting over. I think many of these women could handle aborting spontaneously if something could help get the process going. Has anyone used a dose different from Lynn's recommendation for 100mg q 4 hrs.?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
