Hi all.. anyone disagree with pitocin for this lady?

19 y/o G1 at 34 2/7 presents with SROM clear fluid. During prenatal course ultrasound at 20 wks supports her dates. Had MSAFP elevated 2.3 MOM with no anomalies on US. Pt refused amnio.

Admitted and was grossly ruptured. Fluid sent from vagina for lung maturity. Pt placed on amp and erythromycin. Strip reassuring, no fever, no contractions, fetal movement slightly decreased. No signs of infection.

U/S in hospital noted 1600g (<10% for 34 wks) cephalic SIUP, EGA by US 31 wks. BPP 8/8 AFI 8

Now around 5 pm L/S and PG come back immature.. I gave steroids on admission (anyone disagree?)

Now 24 hrs post first dose of celestone

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
