HSV and PregnancyFrom: AultK@obgyn-po.obgyn.uiowa.eduWed Aug 27 08:38:11 1997
Concerning HSV and pregnancy, I would point everyone to two articles from Parkland that have been in the green journal in the past year or two. One is Scott Roberts article. The title says it all - "No lesions no cesarean" The other is Laurie Scott's article about suppression of HSV near term with acyclovir. I have offered a number of patients this option and they seem to be very accepting of the concept. - Kevin Ault, MD University of Iowa

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
