Re: Amniocentesis for pregnancy with IUCD in-situFrom: ATB28@aol.comThu Aug 21 06:29:52 1997
Genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis are indicated on the basis of her age alone (other indications may also exist, depeneding upon the history elucidated while you did the family history). The presence of an IUD is *not* a contraindication to prenatal diagnosis; amniocentesis is OK, but CVS might have been a better alternative (at 10-12 weeks). Allan T. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
