>Bob: I'd tell her to call the L&D unit and talk to the nurses. First state that you are new in town and looking for an OB/GYN and ask for recommendations. Write down what she says in the order she says it - she will usually say her favorites first. THEN ask her who she goes to!! On our unit, the nurses are not allowed to "recommend" but they will give the names in the order they prefer. They also have no problem telling them who they go to if they ask. If I were new in town, I'd much rather have input from L&D nurses than a neighbor or co-worker. Barb CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
