I know my partner, and the ARNPs in our office, struggle with this often. Bias, regardless of the reason, can only lead to substandard health care. Thankfully those women who demand a female gyn have many excellent ones in our area to choose from. It's when they blindly seek a doctor based on gender (or any other bias) without checking credentials or expertise that they run the risk of compromising their health. Have a nice weekend. Ashley D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
