Re: Post dates? Wrong dates?

I'd personally be very wary about changing dates based on a late third trimester u/s. the error range is pretty large, especially with a large fetus and more importantly the dates were already established clinically. I also have concerns about ordering an ultrasound to get a picture of the baby. It is an expensive medical test and should be done for medical indications. It is a nice test but we wouldn't order an MRI for the same reasons. as for the patient in question....what about amnio, repeat glucose screen, and induction if not diabetic..

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
