Re: Fosamax PLUS estrogen?From: Malcolm Griffiths (malcolm@mgriff22.demon.co.uk)Wed Jul 30 16:38:39 1997
In message <199707300631.XAA17121@islander.whidbey.net>, Dan Logen <pdl@whidbey.net> writes >>there are some women that will still lose inspite of >> ert. >> These women may benefit from estro|fosamax combined therapy..new options >will >> also be coming out soon. I actually spoke (coincidentally) to the MSD rep ( they market Fosomax over here. He said there was no data availoable on Fosomax as primary prevetion of osteoporosis, but that he understood trials of HRT +/- Fosomax were underway/planned. He confirmed they did not currently promote it for this use as there was no licence. He sounded very optimistic that the trials would produce benefit, but this sounded like baseless optimism to me !

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
