Goldenseal, although great for many things, I don't think is intended to be used to start uterine contractions as it can cause a precipitous labour. It is a cleansing herb that can be taxing on your liver and kidneys and can increase white blood cell count, which wouldn't be optimal for a laboring woman. It can be used to clean and heal the baby's cord. JT - new to list

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
