AIUM recommendationsFrom: Michael Wolkomir (wolkomir@post.its.mcw.edu)Fri Jul 11 09:33:30 1997
<Especially Terry D.> Can anyone tell me what the status of the AIUM training recommendations is? I've lost track, and a resident came to me with a xerox of a page from a course sylabus describing AIUM "Requirements" for office US as 100 hours of US CME and 500 supervised scans. What weight does this carry now? Thanks, <<Mike>>

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
