Not to argue the merits of episiotomies, but my two main indications are to shorten the second stage, usually because the FH is bottoming out, or the perineum is *not* stretching, usually secondary to scarring from previous episiotomies. I'm not clear where your RCT's stand on these indications.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
