ESTRINGFrom: Ingrid Andenas Chamales, MD (chamales@brookings.net)Sun Jun 29 15:48:54 1997
Please give me feedback on the Estring (vaginal estrogen ring for postmenopausal atrophic genital symptoms). I am wondering specifically if the consensus is that the small amount of estrogen present vaginally is a local effect only, or should one use a progestin also? I have not been detailed, so I haven't even heard the company line. I solicit gut feelings and well as research based medicine... Ingrid Brookings, SD (town of 15,000 on the prairie)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
