CP Cysts

Greetings. I need some urgent help, please. I have a 15 yr. old who has a left choroid plexus cyst persisting into week 31. Originally seen because of raised MSAFP: 3.30 MoM. uE3 was 1.51 and hCG was 1.40. This is well out of the +18 range and as the US was normal except for the CP cyst no amnio was suggested. At 31 weeks there are no other US abnormalities, no IUGR, no intracranial abnormalities. I haven't seen CP cysts persist this far into the pregnancy and don't have a sense about whether this is a concern or not. They are picked up in postnatal US but there would have to be something wrong to have done the US in the first place. The patient and family very upset, as one would suspect, as much perhaps because I couldn't give them info on this as everything else that goes along with a teen pregnancy. Please let me know of your experiences and thoughts. Many thanks, Allen. H. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
