Once, many years ago, I saw an article regarding labial trimming--but it related to the labia minora, not majora. This article cited the authors experience with a few patients for whom he had cared who had very elongated labia minora and detailed patients' complaints in dealing with this anatomic variant, viz., menstrual hygiene difficulties, the labia minora being traumatized by vaious activities and getting in the way of intromission for coitus. I have seen perhaps two patients in the past 20+ years who fit this general discription, but neither one has chosen (probably wisely) the option of having a labial trim. Gerald P. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
