Sam,
No. It prevents intra uterine pregnancy. That's why one used to say IUD
raised the risk of ectopic pregnancy. In fact if woman wearing an IUD is
pregnant, she's more likely to have an ectopic than an intra uterine.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
