There are none, and as I wrote in a previous post Pfizer had to drop their plans for a multicenter Scandinavian study for lack of patients. (A majority of earlier quality prospective studies of treatment results in PID/salpingitis, where laparoscopic diagnosis is of great importance, were made in Scandinavia.)

Theoretically, the probability of azithromycin being as effective for salpingitis in chlamydia- and/or neisseria-positive patients as earlier drugs of choice is very high. Previous studies of salpingitis treatment including second look laparoscopy haven't really found any significant differences between ANY antibiotics or combinations thereof.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
