Just for the record: let me tell you a tail about Zithromax. I had a patient, who has an HMO (not one of our regular ones) I Rxed Zithromax 2 gms po x one dose (250 mg x 8). The pharmacy would only give her a Zithpack becuse that is what was allowed by the HMO this contains only 1.5 gms total of the medication. Never the less the patient was not cured, required more appointsments and finally I gave here 2gm in the office from samples.
