post-op incapacityFrom: Bernard Cristalli (bcrist@club-internet.fr)Sun Jun 1 01:46:51 1997
Dear list members, What do you think the post-op incapacity should be after regular gyn operations. Or what duration of incapacity do you afford in those cases ? I mean, in our socialist-like heath care system the doc gives a rest to the patient. The rest is paid by the Securite Sociale. Those rests can be very long. We saw some weeks ago that hospital stays are rather long around here too. For instance Lap ectopic or ovarian cyst: 2 days hospital, 7 to 14 days incapacity vaginal hysterectomy: 3 days and 14 abdominal hyst: 7 and 30 !!!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
