Re: fetal echocardiography

Fetal hearts can be difficult and do require substantial experience. However, is it realistic for everyone to send them to him? I mean how can that happen, only in your city I suppose. I do doubt that everyone doing sonography should be doing fetal hearts, but there are sonographers, radiologists, obstetricians, and perhaps even some family practice types who have dedicated enough time and energy to do fetal hearts. But, the vast majority do not have the experience. But, as far as sonographers doing fetal echos, just to defend my profession, I would put Julia Drose, RDMS (Univ. Colo.) or Dale Cyr, RDMS (Univ. Washington) up against ANY one else anywhere. Peace, Terry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
