Management comparisons CNM vs MidwifeFrom: MajMahan@aol.comWed Apr 30 00:41:43 1997
I have to admit to only cursory review of the articles described in this thread. I tend to agree that there is something to be learned from CNM practices, just as they have something to learn from us. I am constantly learning new approaches from both doctors and CNM's. The one problem I have with the studies I have noticed is that experience was not looked at as a factor. Experience in my opinion would seem to play an important role in management decisions that might affect outcome. i.e. timing of epidural placement, review of FHT's etc... I have the nothing but respect for the CNM's at my facility and enjoy working with all of them. BTW, most of them outrank me with regards to the military. :) Miles E Mahan Maj. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
