Pt still asymptomatic. > In my less than extensive experience with advanced cervical pregnancies with a living fetus (3 cases), only one responded to parenteral MTX. She was treated at 10 weeks with no apparent effect on the growing fetus. This case resulted in hysterectomy following similar failure of arterial embolization. Presumably being older (and perhaps wiser), the next two were treated with intraamniotic injection of MTX. This resulted in cessation of fetal cardiac activity and successful resolution without hysterectomy.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
