I bring up the question because right now I am working ona project with a pediatric cardiologist who feels that ob/gyns, ultrasonographers etc should not be doing fetal echocardiograms, but referring directly to him. As substantiation for this demand, he points to several articles (most recently in Circulation July 1996 but I don't have the complete reference) which show a specifity rate of 5-15% for prenatal diagnosis of CHD at 18-22 weeks. I was very interesteed to hear what the other side thought, and appreciate your comments. Rebecca England UM, Ann Arbor.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
