Re: episiotomy and shoulder dystocia wasits effects on perineal body/external anFrom: Edbello@aol.comSun Apr 27 07:37:32 1997
<<However, I will always cut one (probably a small one), so the prosecuting attorney can't harass me as to why I didn't. I'm being honest on this one--who needs the aggrevation of not making an epis and then wondering!>> Gary I agree with you but there will be persons (or person) on this list who will tell you that if you think it is not needed that somehow you are doing so sort of harm, battery and when you give the persons(or person) an honest answer which of what you really do those persons(or person) will attack you personally. Somehow it is got to the point where honesty is not the point but being witty. My suggestion is to say "I never do an episiotomy because of how it will look in court and I will only do an episiotomy only when strictly necesary otherwise I will be sent to a corner untill I behave better" Sure!Yeah Right! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
