while most list members appear to lament the wisdom of having a child at age 63 there is also a stong affirmation of autonomy. most of us are not involved in that particular ART procedure, but how do we weight autonomy vs perceived wisdom when it comes to elective sterilization? i assume that most of us would not perform btl on an 18yr old with one child but would not hesitate for a 40 yr old with 4 kids. i recall many years ago some practioners would multiply the number of kids x age and not agree to a btl if the product was less than a given number (75-100?). how do list members deal with this issue?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
