Well, as I understand it, affirmative action is okay and legal in most parts of this great country. However, in the Fifth Federal District (including TX, LA, etc), it's NOT legal and so not okay. So if you're espousing aff. action, you need to watch out where you are...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
