You should almost certainly get a good result if you really manages to separate the layers. I've seen a few of these, and none seem to have recurred.

I have found the book Operative Obstetrics by Hankins et al. published by Appleton and Lange to be the best test on surgical technique. It also has very useful information about sutures and knots that is often neglected in residency. I hope this is useful to you. Best wishes. Neil Foster M.D.
