I would agree that a viable fetus should be monitored as continuously as possible. We recently had a 32 week patient who had a cholecystectomy. She was monitored continuously in Or, and then q shift on the perinatal unit postoperatively. I'm not sure we have a strict protocol. I agree your 16 weeker did not need monitoring.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
