Communication: L & D to nurseryFrom: Arthurfree@aol.comSat Mar 29 21:41:39 1997
In every hospital I've practiced, there is a labor summary sheet that goes to the infant's chart as well (maternal blood type, complications etc get documented). Is this not happening in your institution? My experience is that if it gets filled out immediately as I'm working on the delivery paperwork, it gets to the infant's chart otherwise it does not reach the chart till medical records (i.e. no help at all). (can't resist here) As a family physician, the only problem I have with this type of communication is when I'm "Dan Braun sleep deprived" to the point that the left brain is no longer talking to the right! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
