I am an ob/gyn office/surgical nurse and have 4 estradiol(25mg each)/1 testosterone (75mg)implanted q 3-4 months. Our office is having a difficult time in coding this procedure so that insurance companies will cover it. I know most of the physicans do not handle this end of the business, but any info would be appreciated. And for those physicans doing this procedure, how often do you repeat implantation on your patients? Information we first received recommended 4-6 months but we are finding that the pellets are lasting only 3-4 months. Thanks for any info! Anne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
