Re: Maternal body mass indexFrom: Ira Mark Bernstein (ibernste@zoo.uvm.edu)Fri Mar 28 15:23:51 1997
Jason, I use a slightly different standard. The standard is ideal body weight as defined by actuarial tables put together by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. These are US standards and a value below the 90th percentile has traditionally been used in the US to define underweight with regard to pregnancy risk. I doubt that this is the best standard. Naeye Weight gain and the outcome of pregnancy AJOG 1979:3;135.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
