I use Zoloft for PMS. I prescribe it all month, although many authorities recommend it for just the weeks preceding menses. The patients seem quite happy with that strategy. I think there is an element of depression in these patients which may be present but tolerable the rest of the month. Very few patients have sexual dysfunction. Those that do I switch to Paxil which is supposed to have less disturbance of sexual function. The dosing is BID so it is less convenient. My $0.02.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
