endometrial evaluation by ultrasound has only been validated using transvaginal scanning. personally, i have noted significant differences on some patients between abdominal and vaginal endometrial appearance. therefore, i would not be totally reassured by this woman's ultrasound.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
