Mark, The term uterus is a crowded place, and those of us that are not using ultrasonic diagnostic imagining on a regular basis cannot always tell if the breech is complete or frank, or if the neck is extended significantly. Obviously, if I can, or if I've an experienced ultrasonographer handy, I will avoid ionizing radiation. But the flat plate is quick, is a small amount of exposure and gives me the info I need rapidly. I find it interesting that we exercise great paranoia about xraying the pregnant pelvis, but hours later think little of getting serial studies of the naked defenseless newborn!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
