BPD and lung maturity?

From: Kelly Shanahan (mks@sierra.net)

My partner is sending a 37-ish week G2P1. prior c/s (choosing elective repeat) for an US Mon when I'm in the ofice. The repeat c/s is tentatively scheduled for Thurs. My partner asked me to do an amnio for lung maturity if the BPD isn't "mature by the USC criteria". What is she talking about? Is there a BPD that correlates highly with lung maturity? Did I miss that lecture in med school?

Thanks for your help.

Kelly

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
