Re: (Lack of) Libido and Oral ContraceptivesFrom: Cheri Van Hoover (cherivh@waonline.com)Fri Jan 31 13:21:54 1997
I remembered seeing a recent study which examined this issue reported in my local newspaper. I know an Ortho drug rep who was thrilled with this report, as it specifically discussed the increased libido and sexual thoughts of young women taking the OCs she recommends most frequently. I looked it up on Medline and am including the reference and abstract here. The reference is: Oral Contraceptives and Sexuality in University Women Arch Sex Behav 1996 Feb;25(1):73-90 McCoy,NL; Matyas,JR I've included the abstract from Medline below:
>The relationship between use of oral contraceptives and sexuality in Something to think about, given the recent discussion on this list of the relative benefits of monophasic vs. multiphasic OCs.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
