Singapore's request - Application of Australian Competency Model for Nursing PracticeFrom: stephanie (stephani@singnet.com.sg)Wed Jan 29 23:16:42 1997
Dear friends and colleagues I have a few questions related to nursing practice. Could you also pass this request to your other colleagues? Thanks in advance for your help. I have attempted to introduce the Australian Competency Model for nursing practice to small groups of nurses within my health care settings in Singapore. It offers a holistic basis to my clinical supervision and facilitation of nurses' professional development. I need your help to clarify some issues with regard to its application and implementation: 1. On the assumption that you are familiar with these domains, do you know whether other countries outside Australia have instituted the above domains into their clinical practice or nursing educational practice? 2. If you have learnt about these five domains, how do you or your team of nurses go about incorporating the model/domains into the clinical or educational practice? 3. What are some of the tangible and intangible results you observed, heard or achieved as a result of the application and utilisation of the model? 4. In the case of negative results in the attempt to implement this model, what accounts for the negative outcome? Please reply to my email address: stephani@singnet.com.sg Thank you in anticipation of your responses. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
