Garry-

I use ethibond (permanent). I shoot for 1 finger-breadth or so between the pubic bone and the urethra, regardless of whether or not there is a suture bridge or approximation to Cooper's ligament.

I just helped someone on a "series" of 3 laparoscopic Burch procedures using Prolene mesh stapled with titanium staples to Coooper's and the vaginal mucosa lateral to the urethrovesical neck. It was actually a pretty smooth procedure, a culdeplasty was performed in all 3 cases, and there were no complications. I would like to see more long-term follow-up data on this procedure. What is your (or the group's) experience with this approach?

Thanks,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
