Malcolm,

I spent three months working in a maternity hospital in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1995. One of the midwives with whom I worked told me of an experience with locked twins. According to her story, the mother presented with a precipitous labor at 34 weeks. She was called to admitting by the staff, and ended up catching both babies in her apron. She said that the breech of the first baby delivered followed by the head of the second, then the head of the first, followed by the body of the second baby. I have no reason to doubt her word as there were several witnesses to the birth.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
