I know I didn't reply because I don't have a clue about what to do; after all, you're in a collaborative practice with back-up from Yale and I'm in private practice in a ski/gambling town. Re: the comments about you as a midwife dealing with twins. Wow, your practice situation sounds WONDERFUL. You are quite correct in stating that midwives and MDs often serve different needs for the patient. A collaborative practice like yours is the optimal way to deal with those needs. And as for those comments: what's the differnece between Betsy taking care of high risk patients under the direct supervision of a doctor and a 2nd year resident doing the same thing? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
