Opinions from the learned readers please, especially MFMs like Lynn and David:

28 YO Para 0, EDC 2/2/97, today 36 3/7 weeks (excellent dating)

1. Twins--Breech #1, Transvers #2 2. Rh Negative 3. Class A1 Diabetes, well controlled 4. s/p rescue cerclage (by MFM)at 19 weeks for membranes funneling in the cervial canal on scan. It is still in place.

This 5 foot, 2 inch woman weighed 110 pounds before pregnancy, and now is about 187 pounds. She has been gaining around 7 pounds between her twice weekly visits, has no protein, massive pretibial edema, normal BPs. Today, her exam is remarkable for generalized swelling, a fundal height of 54 cm. The babies presentations are verified by today's MFM scan, and the EFWs are both 6 pounds. Baby B has increased fluid now. Her skin, especially the abdominal skin, is quite oedematous (oops on the spelling).

This woman is only comfortable sitting up, kind of semi reclining, and isn't sleeping at night. While she isn't complaining, she looks like hell.

As Karl Malden used to say on the Amex commercials, "What will you do? What will you do?"

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
