AIUM Certification

Dr. Brenner wrote that he was unwilling to spend $4000 to get certified to do OB sonography. We came to the same conclusion. Our volume isn't that high, as the Radiology department does all the routine scans, and the perinatologists primarily just scan consult patients. We decided that we would just have give ourselves "certification", as some of us have been doing it for decades.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
