Re: New Series #1-Admission and NSVD of laboring patientsFrom: MBK80@aol.comTue Dec 31 15:41:47 1996
hi gary. We do cbc only because anesthesia usually wants a platelet count more recent than at 28 weeks. My only other concern is the issue of following an insurance companies protocol for a discount. This is MAG Mutuals policy. I left them two years ago as a result. If you dont follow protocol-which is unnecessarily expensive in many circumstances- and you are sued and lose, as I recall, you pay a $5000 deductible!!!! Happy new year. Jay

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
