I agree that it is not cost effective to do paps post hysterectomy for benign disease. However, in terms of well-care, i.e., getting the patient to the Dr. on an annual basis it may well be. I just had a case (n=1) of just such a 74 year old patient whom I had been following on an annual basis for 18 years. Picked up an ovarian ca this year; she was totally asymptomatic.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
