PAP Smear after TAHFrom: Dr Antonio Valdez (avaldez@infolnk.net)Tue Dec 31 09:37:57 1996
Dear List : Ina recept paper (I think the green journal) several authors concluted that a PAP Smear is not cost-effective as a routine screening in women with no uterus (post- TAH) except in the cases that the TAH was done for CA reazons...I agree and start with this practice... Some of my local collegues aren't agree whit this and we have some local debate about this topics.... What about this practice? Do you continue the PAP screening in those cases... And talking abouth cost-effective... I don't found any background for asking for "antibodies" as a routine in a rH positive pregnant women with no obstetrics history of IUD and I don't do it.. Am I wrong? Thank you for your input.... And have all of you a Happy New Year....

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
