The radiological group that I worked for until 1994 (14+ years) provided short videos for the ob patients, and never had a ob related legal problem. Terry J. DuBose

20 years, 5000 del,(real dinosaur); cameras, videos, fathers, grandparents, friends, virtually no limits...."it's your Big Day". Usually some deliberate discussion ahead of time re sibs. Sometimes anesthesia will ask to modify. NEVER have I regretted one of these delivery experiences, even when forceps, vacuum, resuscitation needed. I've always been comfortable knowing they all saw exactly what we (team) did to get the best possible outcome. I know of no instance where a home video was used as evidence of malpractice. Is the need for policies coming from nonMD risk-managers,old paranoia, unfounded tales of litigation, or what? I guess I just don't get it. If it is substantive, I'd like to be advised. Thanks.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
