Two years a go they shut down an entertainment sonography shop in Houston. However, I recently received a message from a friend in Houston that they are now operating again. Anyone know what the real legal issues are here, particularly with the FDA? Terry Dr. Bornstein said: There is in our area a service that will do a sonogram for a patient for about $75 and gives them a video. No diagnosis, no referals patient pays out of pocket. --------------------------------------------

I thought that the FDA had effectively shut down the commercial -------------------------------------------- sonographic -home videos- of ones fetus in utero. Have I missed -------------------------------------------- something?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
