We use plasic speculums, too. The women seem to prefer them probably because they *look* friendlier than metal.The click quits being a problem when you become used to using them.

I also like the attatchable lights.They seem much more convenient to me.

I guess I like convenience,because my main reason for prefering plasic is--who wants to sterilize something you don't have to ?

You can keep a few sterile plasic speculums on hand for checking for ROM.
