How many mid-forcep deliveries do you do. Are you doing > many Scanzoni maneuvers for persistant OP? My CS rate is 8%. Midforceps is a quite usual procedure to me, with or without rotation. I don't do much of vertex versions except when the pelvis is supposed to be just enough. However in primiparas version is not easy and doesn't work well. I use to compare the biparietal diameter of the fetus with the pelvis using the Magnin diagram. The vaginal route is accepted if in the upper part of the diagram, CS intsead. BTW what is Scanzoni maneuver? Bernard Cristalli MD CNGOF Paris - France

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
