The outbreak is mild, so far, and could tolerate not taking the med., but I'm afraid that letting the sores linger will have a worse affect on the baby. I have the pills in front of me, and am tempted to take them, but I'd like to get all the facts first. Could you please Email me any information that you may feel would help me make a decision. Thank you.

Pregnancy is not a contra indication to Zovirax® but Zovirax has no official indication during pregnancy. However it can be taken for a primo-infection. At 33 weeks it can be useful to have this treatment to reduce the risk of reccurence at the time of the delivery.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
