Re: amniotic bandsFrom: Violet2@aol.comTue Dec 10 20:56:04 1996
I just received an ultrasound report on a patient today that showed an area that appeared to be an"Amniotic Band" although no fetal abnormalities were noted. Gestational age was early 2nd trimester ( if I remember correctly...) What followup would you recommend? Should she be referred to a perinatogist for counselling, possible amnio, and/or Level II ultrasound? Thanks, Deborah Johnson CNM Muskegon, MI

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
